INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS - Body-Mind Centering®
We can view developmental progression as similar to a "paint by numbers" picture. It is optimal, when viewing the painting as a whole, to start at the beginning and create a foundation of progress in a sequential pattern. While at any time there is the possibility to jump ahead or skip portions of the painting, and while this may not damage its outcome, it does, however, create gaps in the picture. In the case of developmental progression, the 'gaps in the picture' created by skipping steps are unutilized or undeveloped neuro-developmental pathways, which can manifest as limitations or unrealized potential in various forms. While these limitations may not be notably detrimental to the child, it is still most advantageous for him or her to have had the opportunity to "fill in" the whole picture in sequence.
